The challenge

Jasmin al Sham's menu covers a broad selection of Syrian and Middle Eastern dishes — soups, salads, appetizers, grilled dishes, sandwiches, takeaway sweets, beverages, and desserts — each with descriptions, prices, allergen codes, and restaurant information in both German and Arabic. The challenge was keeping a readable, consistent structure across all of it over 22 pages.

The solution

I built the layout around a fixed editorial structure: section headers mark each category, German and Arabic content runs in aligned columns, and prices sit in the same position on every spread. A burgundy and cream palette runs through all 22 pages. I used curved image frames to pull food photography into the page grid rather than treating photos as separate inserts.

The result

Jasmin al Sham has a 22-page bilingual menu where every category follows the same structure. Dishes, descriptions, prices, and allergen references stay in consistent positions across all sections, so the menu reads the same way in both languages.
